| Little Dean Cot is a short distance from many interesting places: The view to the South West overlooks the glorious Weald of Kent – the historic villages of Pluckley, Smarden, Biddenden and more are just a short drive away. 
There are also the picturesque towns of Canterbury,Tenterden,Headcorn and Rye to name just a few. Places of historic interest include: Leeds Castle - "the loveliest castle in the world" just along the A20. 
Kent is famous for its Oast Houses. Of special interest is the Beltring Hop Farm, near Paddock Wood, which features a museum covering the history of hop farming and brewing. The Swale estuary, to the north at Faversham at Oare is an RSPB site and has wonderful walks along the river edge. 
Whitstable has a fascinating old harbour where fresh fish of all varieties can be purchased. There are excellent restaurants over-looking the beach serving delicious meals but be warned, booking is essential. Seasalter, just next to Whitstable, has a wind surfing and sailing club. Other places easily accessible include: Brogdale Fruit Farm Trust for guided tours and to see the national collection of fruit trees. Chatham for the Historic Naval Dockyard and the Dickens Centre Faversham - Historic Medieval Market Town - with over 150 listed buildings
National Trust properties in Kent such as Chartwell, Penshurst Place, Hever Castle, South foreland lighthouse at Dover. Port Lympne and Howletts Animal Park.
